Under Washington\u2019s worker\u2019s compensation laws, an injured worker can be compensated regardless of whose fault the injury was. Victims of work place injuries or occupational disease can receive medical coverage for surgery, prescription medications, physical therapy or other rehabilitative services. If a worker\u2019s injury or disease requires them to miss an extended period of time from work, they may be eligible to have a portion of their wages paid as time loss compensation. If the injury is so severe that the worker has to change careers or maybe even leave the work force altogether, worker\u2019s compensation benefits can provide for retraining or a pension award. These temporary total disability benefits are referred to as \u201ctime loss\u201d and often commence within 14 days of the beginning of the claim.<br \/><u><\/u><u><\/u><br \/><strong>P\u00e9rdida de poder de ganancia<u><\/u><u><\/u><\/strong><br \/><u><\/u><u><\/u>During the healing process, and with the approval of the medical provider, the employer may choose to offer the employee a modified duty position such as answering phones, administrative or clerical tasks, or perhaps a supervisory role.<u><\/u><u><\/u><br \/><u><\/u><u><\/u>Often times the modified duty compensation rate is less than the amount the worker was earning at the actual job of injury. An employee who suffers such a \u201cLoss of Earning Power\u201d may be entitled to a portion of the difference between the modified duty wage and the pre-injury wage.<br \/><u><\/u><u><\/u><br \/><strong>Vocational<br \/><\/strong>Durante el proceso de recuperaci\u00f3n, y con la aprobaci\u00f3n del proveedor m\u00e9dico, el empleador puede optar por ofrecerle al empleado un puesto de trabajo modificado, como contestar llamadas telef\u00f3nicas, tareas administrativas o administrativas, o tal vez una funci\u00f3n de supervisi\u00f3n. Cuando se pueda demostrar que el trabajador ha sufrido una incapacidad parcial permanente relacionada con la reclamaci\u00f3n (\"PPD\"), el trabajador tiene derecho a una indemnizaci\u00f3n en consecuencia.<br \/><br \/><strong>Discapacidad Total Permanente<u><\/u><u><\/u><\/strong><br \/><u><\/u><u><\/u>Un trabajador est\u00e1 permanentemente totalmente incapacitado (y, por lo tanto, se considera que no puede trabajar) cuando ya no puede realizar el trabajo que ha realizado en el pasado y no puede ser capacitado nuevamente para el trabajo que puede realizar dentro de su restricciones
